Riyan Parag has announced his Twenty20 debut for Assam in the 2016-17 Inter-State Twenty20 tournament in January 2017. In October 2017, Riyan Parag was nominated in the India team for the 2017 ACC-19 Asia Cup. In the 2017-18 Ranji Trophy in 2017, Ryan Parag made the first class debut for Assam.
In December 2017, Ryan Parag was nominated in the India team for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018-19, Ryan Parag was the leading run-scorer for Assam, scoring 248 runs in 7 matches.
