On Monday (June 26), the world was on the edge of their seats when CNN broke a story about West Coast rapper, Nipsey Hussle, being shot outside his clothing store in Los Angeles.
Those that tuned into BET’s live telecast of the June 25 “BET Awards” may have noticed a solemn moment during Jamie Foxx and T.I.’s opening monologue . The two comedians were set to make jokes about Nipsey’s alleged infidelity before they stopped to pay respect for all the artists that passed away this year including Avicii , Mac Miller and Prodigy who recently died after spending time in jail.

Prodigy’s death occurred just hours before he was set to perform with his group, Mobb Deep, at the “BET Awards.” His longtime Mobb Deep partner Havoc took to Twitter on Sunday (June 25) to share his grief.
Havoc wrote, “I’m sick to my stomach” and then shared a photo of him with Prodigy when he was just 9-years-old.
The Fader reports that Prodigy’s cause of death has not been released yet but sources close to him say it’s likely due to complications from the sickle cell anemia from which he struggled with for most of his life. [ARTICLE END]

“The rapper was reportedly shot on Tuesday afternoon (March 31) after getting into an argument. The unidentified suspect allegedly drew a gun and opened fire on the rapper before fleeing the scene.” According to TMZ : “Law enforcement tells us … witnesses claimed Crips gang members were at the scene of Nipsey’s shooting when it went down. We’re told cops have not verified that information but are investigating if there was any affiliation.”
